What to expect
Course description
Help students transform their almost-there English into natural fluency. This workshop teaches you to spot and refine emerging language—those nearly-perfect phrases that just need polishing. Unlike traditional error correction that focuses on mistakes, you'll learn to build on what students are already doing right through techniques like recasting and reformulation. The result? More effective progress, maintained motivation, and students who sound authentically fluent.
In this hands-on session, you’ll:
✔ Acquire noticing, reformulating and recasting techniques
✔ Choose when to correct vs. let it slide (fluency/accuracy balance)
✔ Practice identifying "teachable moments" in real student sentences
Perfect for teachers who want to spot teaching opportunities hidden in plain speech.
Learning goal
To equip teachers with principled techniques for identifying and shaping students’ emerging interlanguage, promoting organic growth toward accuracy.
Suitable for
English teachers at Flying Teachers and external English teachers
