Take our online course and learn the background, skills, tools and resources to efficiently plan and deliver engaging online courses.
This course consists of three parts:
- e-Learning self-study on central aspects (key topics) of online teaching
- Weekly exchange with the course group and the course leader
- Individual evaluation and certification by the course leader

It is possible to complete only the e-learning part of the course through self-study. There are no group lessons or evaluation and you do not receive any support from a course instructor. Conditions of participation, Certificate in Online Teaching
We ask that you read this information carefully before registering for the course.
- The participant is aware that this course consists partly of self-study.
- The course is completed online as a combination of self-study, guided group lessons and the recording and evaluation of an online lesson taught by the participant
- The course assumes the methodological and didactic principles of face-to-face teaching. It is therefore recommended for course instructors who already have further training in this area (preferably SVEB)
- Basic IT user knowledge is required to take part in the course.
- Registration for the course is binding. Once the participant has used their access to the e-learning content, the course registration can no longer be canceled.
- The following conditions apply to obtain the Flying Teacher Certificate: Online Teaching:
- All e-learning tasks have been completed
- The participant has taken part in at least 80% of the group lessons
- A recording of an online course sequence (individual or group lessons) of at least 30 minutes, taught by the participant, was submitted within 3 months of the start of the course
- The recorded lesson shows that the participant can implement the content and principles taught in the certificate course in the course practice.
- The recorded lesson is rated “completed” by the course instructor.
- The course costs include a license for e-learning for 6 months, participation in the group lessons, the evaluation of the recorded lesson, all course materials and administrative costs.
- If the submitted lesson recording is rated as “not fulfilled”, a second lesson can be submitted for evaluation free of charge.
- The course costs do not include individual support from the course leader outside of the group lessons
The recorded lesson must fulfil the following requirements:
- The 30-/40-minute lesson must have one main learning aim related to the language system (vocabulary or grammar) and at least two practice stages (examples: controlled and freer practice)
- The lesson must clearly show how you provide your learners with feedback on tasks as well as error correction (immediate and delayed)
- A detailed lesson plan procedure page must be submitted describing the lesson stages. You can use the lesson plan examples available on the online part of this course
- The recorded lesson is assessed with a Pass or Fail grade.
In order to acquire the Flying Teachers Certificate: Teaching Online, the recorded lesson needs to demonstrate that the participant can effectively:
