The SVEB Bridge Course offers teachers holding a CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL qualification the opportunity to obtain the SVEB Certificate in English (“Trainer certified SFAL – Swiss Federation of Adult Learning”).

The SVEB Certificate “Instructor – Conducting Learning Events” is an official qualification issued by the Swiss Federation of Adult Learning (SVEB).

It is a nationally recognised foundational qualification for teachers in adult education in Switzerland and entitles them to teach in any subject area in which they possess the relevant professional expertise.

Certificat

The SVEB Certificate is recognised throughout Switzerland, is valid without time limitation, and enables you to work as an instructor in adult education.

Requirements for the Bridge Course Certificate of Attendance

  • 100% attendance on all Bridge Course days
  • Two written assignments (a total of 3,000–3,500 words)

If these requirements are met, participants of the Bridge Course will receive a Flying Teachers Certificate of Attendance for the formal SVEB certification process.

The final certification procedure must be completed within five years of the last day of the SVEB Bridge Course.

Requirements for SVEB Certification
The SVEB Certificate for teachers with a CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL qualification is issued once the following documents have been submitted:

  • Copy of a Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL certificate
  • Copy of the Flying Teachers Bridge Course Certificate of Attendance (100% attendance)
  • Pass grades in the written pre- and post-course assignments
  • Proof of 50 hours of practical adult language teaching (group lessons with at least three participants), plus additional documentation in the form of employment references or confirmations from employers/contractors. This teaching record must clearly demonstrate continuous teaching activity over a period of at least two years.
